SEWN STORIES a collaborative textile project designed and facilitated by Peg Gignoux engaged Meredith College art students during the Fall of 2003. This 11 week class, required creative teamwork and commitment from the participants of the studio classroom. The central focus of the project was to create texture from text. By hand. The narrative content of SEWN STORIES is inspired by the cultural and aesthetic strength of indigeneous craftswomen working in textiles around the world.
