For
years, Peg Gignoux has been involved in developing
useful and innovative methods for teaching and making textiles that
rely on a collaborative process of ideation and design. Gignoux
has been involved in a variety of educational outreach projects
that have yielded large public works for area schools, hospitals
and municipal buildings. Studio activities often include dyeing,
painting, writing, printing and collage. As facilitator of many
projects involving diverse populations, Peg has had the distinct
challenge and privilege to encounter and synthesize many points
of view. Working in makeshift studios, with expressive students
making design sense for unusual sites has been enormously rewarding.
